OPETH To Tour Europe With THE OCEAN, CYNIC
July 21, 2008Swedish progressive metallers OPETH will embark on a European headlining tour in November/December. Support on the trek will come from THE OCEAN and CYNIC.

Italian news blog Musica Metal has posted video footage of OPETH performing the song "Heir Apparent" on July 12, 2008 at the Evolution Festival in Milan, Italy. Watch the clip below.
OPETH will team up with HIGH ON FIRE for a North American tour this fall. NACHTMYTSIUM will open the first half of the trek, while BARONESS will open the second half.
OPETH was recently forced to cancel its appearances at the Peace & Love (Borlänge, Sweden on June 26),Hovefestivalen (Norway on June 27),Metaltown (Gothenborg, Sweden on June 28),and Graspop Metal Meeting (Dessel, Belgium on June 29) festivals after Mikael Åkerfeldt contracted varicella (chicken pox).
"Watershed", the new album from OPETH, sold more than 19,000 copies of in the United States in its first week of release.
"Watershed" is the follow-up to the band's acclaimed "Ghost Reveries" CD, which debuted at No. 64 on the Billboard chart back in September 2005 with first-week sales of just under 15,000. OPETH's 2003 album, "Damnation", opened with a little over 5,000 copies.
